Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has recently been spotted cruising in his brand new bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV with his entourage on the streets of Mumbai. The SUV’s sleek white finish drew the attention of passersby, who couldn’t help but admire the impressive vehicle. Accompanying the Nissan Patrol was a black Toyota Fortuner with Salman Khan’s personal security in front and police officers in a Mahindra Bolero Neo behind.
Nissan Patrol: A flagship SUV not available in India
For those unfamiliar with the Nissan Patrol, it is the flagship SUV produced by the Japanese manufacturer that is not available for purchase in India but is a popular choice in Gulf nations and Southeast Asian countries. There is a belief that Salman Khan personally imported the vehicle from the international market. The Nissan Patrol is internationally renowned for its bulletproofing capabilities and is considered one of the best options for protection.
Impressive capabilities: Nissan Patrol’s bulletproofing and engine specifications
Under the hood, the Nissan Patrol that Salman Khan purchased boasts a 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine that generates 405hp and 560Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system as standard. The SUV also features a rear-locking differential. Additionally, a smaller 4.0-liter V6 petrol engine is also available in the UAE market.
A legend in the SUV market: Nissan Patrol’s history and redesign
Since its inception in 1951, the Nissan Patrol has gained a reputation for being an indestructible vehicle and has solidified its position as a legend in the SUV market. The current sixth-generation model, which has been sold in foreign regions since 2010, recently underwent a redesign in 2019, improving the SUV’s front end. This tank of an SUV measures 5.1m long and nearly 2m wide, providing ample space for all three rows of seats.

Prior to the Nissan Patrol, Salman Khan was seen driving a previous-generation bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser, details of which were not made public. Other cars in his collection include a Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography, which costs approximately Rs. 1.87 crores, ex-showroom, and an Audi RS7 Sportback, which he launched in 2014. Salman Khan is also an avid motorbike enthusiast and owns a Suzuki Hayabusa and a Suzuki Intruder M1800R.
