Pictures from the Cannes 2023 red carpet have been posted by Oscar-winning director Guneet Monga. She wore a saree as she made her way down the red carpet at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Guneet thanked the Indian government delegation on social media on Wednesday and shared his delight about traveling to Cannes with the Indian group.

Guneet is stunning in the photos despite choosing to dress in a golden saree on the Cannes red carpet. She accessorized her look with tasteful cosmetics and little accessories. She is pictured smiling beside actor Kangabam Tomba from Manipur and Dr. L Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. The Indian delegation at the Cannes Film Festival is being led by Dr. L Murugan.

She wrote a lengthy statement and included the photographs with it. Guneet expressed her pride at seeing Indian movies celebrated on a worldwide scale. “So excited to be attending the Cannes Film Festival 2023 as a member of the Indian government delegation,” she wrote in her post. It’s an honor to participate in this historic occasion as India currently occupies a prominent position in world film. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Indian government and FICCI for giving me the wonderful chance to represent our nation on this international stage. It’s wonderful to be back in Cannes. I enjoy the festival’s atmosphere and simply stroll down the street to catch up with fraternity buddies and enjoy the cinema.
She continued, “Seeing Indian filmmaking celebrated on a worldwide scale at a famous film festival like Cannes makes my heart swell with pride. It is nothing short of a show to be able to honor Indian cinema’s influence and see how it can unite people.
Guneet and director Kartiki Gonsalves received the Best Documentary Short Oscar for The Elephant Whisperers. The film highlighted the relationship between a young elephant and his Bellie and Bomman caregivers.
