Lata Mangeshkar, born in 1929, was the daughter of renowned Pt Deenanath Mangeshkar, excelling in music from a young age.

In 1971, after the Bangladesh Liberation War, she joined Sunil Dutt's group, traveling extensively on Army planes.

Trained by her father since age five, she even performed in his plays, but once fainted in a  non-air-conditioned studio.

Lata cherished her bond with Indira Gandhi, sharing a mutual love for music, believing the Prime Minister had a knack for singing.

Collaborating with sister Asha Bhosle, they left an indelible mark on Bollywood with hits like DDLJ,  Dil To Pagal Hai, and Lagaan.

The 'Nightingale of India' sang over 30,000 songs in various languages, enchanting generations with her mesmerizing voice.

Lata, along with sister Usha and south playback singer P. Susheela, celebrated the latter's birthday, wishing her a long life.

After losing her father at 13,  Lata Mangeshkar bravely took on the mantle of responsibility for her five siblings, embarking on her  musical journey.
