Shahid was candid in the interview regarding his acting career. He talked about his early years before describing his trip as “crazy.” Also, he mentioned how his experience had been a “learning curve.” “It’s been pretty insane,” Shahid said (laughs). What was I thinking with some of the choices I made in my own career, I wonder as I look back on it? Haider came after Kaminey, Dil Bole Hadippa!, and R Rajkumar after Haider. I have no idea what was wrong with me (laughs). It’s been a learning process, and I wish I could… Although I frequently remind Mira (Rajput) and Ishaan (Khatter) of this, I am aware that it is sometimes unwelcoming. I’m saying, “Main tumlogo ko bata deta hu, tumlog mat karo, main bahut galtiyaan ki hai.” But, they say, “Go to hell; we are our own people, and we will make our own decisions.” In spite of the fact that I have made a lot of blunders, I am really proud of the past 20 years.
He went on to say that he is “quietly ambitious” and that he has a lot more to say. Shahid continued, “I feel incredibly lucky and extremely grateful to be here 20 years later. About the caliber of some of my work, I am really proud. Generally speaking, I am proud of what I have accomplished because it serves as a springboard to where one wants to go. As an artist, I still feel very youthful at heart. I believe I have a lot left to say, and I am very subtly ambitious. It’s not my style to shout, jump, or otherwise generate noise. I prefer for my art to speak for itself, but I still have a lot of ambition. Only time will tell how it will develop. Nonetheless, I still feel that there is a lot more to be done.
