In a year filled with anticipation for Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra,’ the actor has more in store for his fans. Currently filming opposite Rashmika Mandanna for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Animal,’ exciting developments have been occurring, including Bobby Deol joining the cast and leaked glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor’s character. However, recent reports suggest that the film might not meet its scheduled release date of August 11, and the reason has nothing to do with clashes with other films.
According to sources close to Bollywood Hungama, the release of ‘Animal‘ has been postponed to December due to embellishments required in the VFX department. The source revealed, “Animal is one of the most ambitious films produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, and they fully support director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who needs more time to deliver a world-class product. Sandeep is a perfectionist and wants to release the film without compromising on the VFX front. Despite the teams working tirelessly day and night, the great action scenes require additional time to present the best version by August 11. After assessing Sandeep’s vision and the output that would have been ready by August, the producers and Ranbir Kapoor collectively decided to delay the film until December.”
However, this delay might potentially clash with another highly anticipated film, ‘Tiger 3,’ starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The source added, “The team believes that a December 1 release will provide a three-week window, as no other film would want to come in the middle of three major sagas – ‘Tiger 3,’ ‘Animal,’ and ‘Dunki.’ It’s a well-strategized date they have chosen, and the four-month delay allows ample time for the completion of the VFX work.”
On New Year’s Day, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga unveiled the film’s poster, featuring Ranbir Kapoor smoking a cigarette while gazing intently. He is seen wearing a blood-stained white shirt and holding a blood-covered axe. The poster also revealed the original release date of August 11.
The decision to postpone the release of ‘Animal’ until December ensures that the VFX elements are given the attention they deserve, providing audiences with a top-notch cinematic experience. Moreover, the strategic release date allows the film to steer clear of clashes with other major releases, allowing it to shine. Fans eagerly await the grand unveiling of ‘Animal’ and its stellar cast, promising an extraordinary cinematic journey.
