During a recent appearance on the dance reality show India’s Best Dancer, renowned choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan shared an intriguing trivia about the popular song “Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye” from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She revealed that due to Salman Khan’s limited availability, most of the scenes in the song were performed by Salman’s duplicate. In the film, Salman portrayed the character of Aman, the second lead.
Farah Khan’s Trivia about “Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye”
In a promo clip, Farah Khan conversed with a dancer who played Salman’s duplicate in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She mentioned, “Ritji was very cute. Let me tell you that in the song ‘Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye,’ Ritji did half of the song as Salman’s duplicate. Salman could only spare 2-3 hours for the shoot. So, Ritji performed all the back shots, top shots, and wide shots.”
The show also surprised Farah by bringing back the original dancers from the iconic song “Chaiyya Chaiyya.” Farah recognized most of them and shared fascinating stories about the making of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Sony, the broadcasting channel, shared the promo with the caption: “How did you like this story behind ‘Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye’? We have brought more special stories from the world of cinema just for you. The Search for Aman’s Role
In 2021, director Karan Johar revealed why Salman Khan agreed to play the character of Aman in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. During his appearance on Indian Idol 12, Karan shared the story behind it. He explained that he had approached several actors for the role of Aman, but none of them were willing to play the second lead in a film starring Shah Rukh Khan. However, when Karan met Salman Khan at a party and expressed his struggle in finding a suitable actor for the role, Salman responded, “One must be crazy to do this film, and I am that person.”
Why Salman Accepted the Film
Later, when Karan narrated the script to Salman, he immediately agreed after hearing the first half. However, when Karan informed him that the role of Aman was yet to be narrated, Salman said, “What difference does it make? I know your father, and I am doing this film for him.”
