Trisha Krishnan has been asked over the years about a specific interview from the days when she was simply a model. The interview is one interesting example of how one’s life can completely turn around. The conversation took place on the first discussion show of its sort on Tamil TV, Nayyandi Darbar, hosted by well-known actor Yugi Sethu. When Trisha participated in the show, she had just entered the 12th grade. She had gained a little fame in the modeling community after taking first place in Miss Salem and Miss Chennai contests.
“Suddenly, one-day fine day, I thought why shouldn’t I try modelling? Just give it a try and if I like it, I will continue–this was seven months back–and I really enjoyed it,” little Trisha says when asked about her entry into modeling. When Yugi Sethu follows it up with whether she would get into acting, Trisha without a moment of hesitation said, “No. No. Not at all.”
“I don’t think it is my cup of tea,” Trisha Krishnan said. Sethu immediately replies, “Oh, you all tell the same thing, but later you go and start dancing to AR Rahman music in films.” However, Trisha back then was very sure that she will not act. “No. This is for sure.” Later in 2016, when Trisha was acting in a series of horror comedies like Mohini, I asked her about the interview and the actor laughed and said, “After that, I just decided I should never plan my future! I now go with the flow; take every day as it comes. Because in an unpredictable industry like this one, you can’t say one thing and stick to it, can you now?”

In 2023, Trisha Krishnan , who is now 40, is still popular and gaining fans for her role as Kundhavai in Mani Ratnam’s film. One of the film’s highlights is the connection between her character and Karthi’s Vandhiyathevan, which has already raked in more than Rs 200 crore worldwide. The story does not end there. Leo, a movie that is highly anticipated in Tamil cinema, includes Trisha. She is appearing alongside Vijay after a 17-year absence, making it even more special. She said, “Because it’s my job! It is also flattering given that it’s never happened before. I think I am blessed since people have waited for my films. It also means that more than talent or ability, luck plays a big part. And, I am very lucky.”
