As a leading figure in the Indian film industry, Aishwarya Rai has often been in the spotlight for her performances and personal life. However, in recent years, Aishwarya Rai exposed Alia Bhatt’s “nepotistic privileges” and the kind of support that Karan Johar has given her.
Celebrities’ previous comments have a way of coming back to haunt them, as evidenced by the most recent trending video. An old video of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, seemingly dissing Alia Bhatt for her privilege of having ‘only good opportunities which are there literally on her lap’.
Talking about Alia in an interview, Aishwarya had said, “I have said this to her also, ‘it’s fantastic for you’. The kind of support Karan has given to her from the beginning, and to have that kind of an establishment with you is very comforting because you know it is not tough. You can have it all laid out for the longest time. And she smiled. It’s great where you as an actor know there are only good opportunities ahead.”
She had added, “But what’s nice is she is also doing good work, along with great opportunities which are virtually there literally on her lap, regularly.” A Twitter user recently shared a clip of her comment. The caption on it read: “Aishwarya exposing Alia Bhatt’s nepotistic privileges.”
Reacting to the video, a Twitter user wrote, “Even if someone gets the best opportunities not everyone can act n make a mark for themselves. Like her husband who got the best kind of opportunities but still he’s not a hit star even after 20 yrs. Alia is the most talented actress n her work speaks volumes.”
Another chimed in, “Point is she got too many opportunities on platter to showcase her talent due to which others don’t.”
“Well she said it as it is. They worked hard back then with no privileges and no babysitting,”
Aishwarya Rai’s comments on Alia Bhatt’s “nepotistic privileges” and the support she has received from Karan Johar have shed light on the issue of nepotism in the Indian film industry. While there are many talented actors who come from film families, it is important to ensure that they are not given undue advantages at the expense of talented outsiders.
