Entrepreneur Raj Kundra, who is famously known as Shilpa Shetty’s husband and a former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant, is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, “UT69,” scheduled to hit the screens on November 3. The much-anticipated trailer for the movie was unveiled on Wednesday, providing viewers with a sneak peek into Raj’s life.
“UT69” is a film where Raj Kundra takes on the lead role, portraying his own experiences. The story revolves around his arrest and subsequent incarceration in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in 2021 due to his alleged involvement in a pornography case. The trailer opens with a ‘breaking news’ segment, highlighting Raj’s arrest, and takes audiences on a journey through his time in jail.

The trailer showcases Raj’s struggles as he attempts to adapt to the constant mockery from fellow inmates and law enforcement personnel. In one scene, he even faces a stampede-like situation. However, the trailer also sheds light on the unexpected friendships he forms during his time in jail.
Raj Kundra’s legal troubles began in July 2021 when he was arrested on charges related to the production of pornographic content. He was granted bail in September of the same year and was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and the Information Technology Act.
The film’s makers, in a statement on YouTube alongside the trailer, described “UT69” as a satirical take on the real-life incidents from Raj Kundra’s days spent at Arthur Road Jail, a period he recalls as one of the most challenging times of his life. The film is based on a true story.
Earlier this month, Raj Kundra announced the release date of “UT69” with a humorous video featuring filmmaker Farah Khan and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The film is based on a true story, and initial rumors about Farah Khan directing it were quashed during the trailer launch event in Mumbai. The project was helmed by ad film director Shahnawaz Ali and is backed by AA Films, produced by SVS Studios, and co-produced by THE BIGGER PICTURE FILMS.
Raj Kundra expressed his feelings about his debut film, saying, “This is more than just a movie for me! While it’s a closure of sorts, you will see through my eyes a story about survival, friendships, and relationships inside India’s most notoriously crowded infamous detention center, also known as Arthur Road Jail
