In a message on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Rashmika shared her distress over the spread of a deepfake video that depicted her. She stressed that this misuse of technology was not only alarming for her but also for anyone vulnerable to such harm due to the misuse of technology.
Rashmika further shared her thoughts as a woman and an actor, noting that her family, friends, and well-wishers provided her with protection and support. However, she reflected on how challenging it would have been to handle such a situation during her school or college years. She urged the community to address this issue urgently to prevent more people from falling victim to identity theft. She tagged the official X accounts of Cyberabad Police and Maharashtra Cyber, the nodal agency for cyber security and cybercrime investigation in Maharashtra.
