Veteran actress Saira Banu made her long-awaited debut on Instagram on July 7th, coinciding with the second death anniversary of her beloved husband and film legend, Dilip Kumar.
Saira dedicated her first-ever post on the social media platform to Dilip, sharing two heartwarming throwback pictures of themselves. Alongside the photos, she penned a heartfelt note expressing her love for him.
The caption of her post included the verse, “Sukoon-E-Dil Ke Liye Kuch Toh Ehtemaam Karoon, Zara Nazar Jo Miley Phir Unhe Salaam Karoon, Mujhe Toh Hosh Nahin Aap Mashwara Dijiyey, Kaha Se Chedoon Fasana Kahan Tamaam Karoon,” which translates to, “To bring peace to my heart, I should make some arrangements, let me greet those who come into sight. I am not in my senses, please advise me, from where should I start and how should I complete this tale.”

Saira expressed her gratitude to the multitude of caring well-wishers and dear friends from all over the world who have showered her with everlasting remembrance, love, and respect for her “Kohinoor,” Dilip Kumar Sahib. She specifically chose the 7th of July to write this note, as it marks the day when her loved one entered a deep slumber two years ago.

She pleaded with the Almighty for her “Sahib,” as she fondly called him, to react to one of his favorite couplets. Despite his slumber, Saira feels his presence with her to this day and believes they will continue to walk the path of life together, hand in hand, bound by their thoughts and love until the end of time.
Saira also explained her reason for joining Instagram, stating that Dilip Sahib has been an iconic guiding light not only in her life but also for generations inspired by his presence and personality. She described him not only as the greatest actor ever but also as a person of great humility and dignity.
On Instagram, Saira intends to share Dilip’s life, thoughts, and vision, as well as his dedication to the film industry, where he stood as the ultimate actor. Additionally, she plans to highlight his involvement in various other activities aimed at benefiting society and the well-being of the world at large.
Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu were married for an impressive 55 years until his unfortunate demise. When they tied the knot, Dilip was reportedly 44 years old, while Saira was only 22.
