Deepika Padukone shines at the 95th Academy Awards
As Deepika Padukone entered the stage at the 95th Academy Awards, she looked stunning in all black. The Bollywood diva praised the “Naatu Naatu” song from SS Rajamouli’s “RRR,” which has become a global phenomenon, and she also invited vocalists Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava to perform on stage.
Together with Riz Ahmed, Dwayne Johnson, and Emily Brint, among others, the actress has joined the roster of presenters.
In a black suit, Deepika looked ethereal as she made her way down the red carpet of the 95th Academy Awards. With her beautiful appearance, the stunning Bollywood actress captured everyone’s attention.
Fans couldn’t stop fawning over the actress’s whole costume when she offered a sneak peek of it on Instagram. She chose a black velvet dress and looked stunning.
She is not the first Indian to present at the esteemed Academy Awards, though. Just two Indians have ever presented at the Oscars prior to today.
Persis Khambatta was the first Indian to get the honor in 1980. Khambatta, a model and actor, is most known for his role as Lieutenant Ilia in the 1979 film Star Trek: The Motion Picture. She took the stage at the Oscars ceremony in 1980 to present the prize for the best feature-length documentary film.
The second person to present at the Oscars was Priyanka Chopra. Chopra announced the 2016 Achievement in Film Editing nominations. Liev Schreiber, an American actor, and filmmaker joined her on stage.
