On Sunday, Saira Banu attended the opening ceremony of a two-day film festival honouring Dilip Kumar’s 100th birthday. The Film Heritage Foundation is organising the event, which is titled ‘Dilip Kumar Hero of Heroes.’ Saira Banu became teary-eyed during the screening when she saw a poster of the late Dilip Kumar.
Saira was seen touching a poster of a young-looking Dilip Kumar at the screening in a paparazzi video. She appeared to struggle with holding back her tears in front of the media. She was dressed in a traditional black outfit and stood alongside Farida Jalal and others.
A fan responded to the emotional moment by writing, “Sayad hi kisi ne kisi ko itni mohabaat ki hogi (Only a few can love someone like her).” “Their love serves as an example for us,” said another. “Pure love story,” someone else added.
PVR Cinemas and INOX have partnered with the film festival. It will take place on both Saturday and Sunday. Dilip Kumar’s critically acclaimed films, including Aan (1952), Devdas (1955), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), and Shakti (1982), will be screened in over 30 cinema halls and 20 cities across the country over the two days.
Considering the response since the festival’s advance booking opened on December 3, Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Limited, said in a statement, according to news agency PTI, “The response to the two-day film festival titled Dilip Kumar Hero of Heroes featuring four critically acclaimed movies has been encouraging.” We opened advance bookings on December 3rd, and there has been a lot of excitement among Dilip Kumar fans for two of his films, Aan and Shakti.”
