Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming project, “Ramayana,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to generate immense anticipation among fans, despite no official confirmation from the makers yet.
Recent reports have been swirling regarding the potential star cast, with names like Sai Pallavi and Alia Bhatt speculated for the role of Goddess Sita. Now, it’s been suggested that TV actress Sakshi Tanwar has been chosen to portray Mandodari, the wife of Ravan.
According to a report by a leading entertainment portal, director Nitesh Tiwari has finalized Sakshi for the role of Mandodari. She is reportedly thrilled to share screen space with Yash, who is set to play Ravan in the film, and has been actively participating in script-reading sessions with the team.
Furthermore, Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh have also been reportedly part of these script-reading sessions. Lara is said to take on the lead role of Kaikeyi, while Rakul’s potential role as Shurpanakha is also under speculation.
In earlier reports by another prominent entertainment outlet, it was suggested that Vijay Sethupathi might play Vibhishana, Ravan’s brother, in the film. Apparently, after being briefed by Nitesh Tiwari on the script and the envisioned cinematic world of “Ramayana,” Vijay expressed keen interest in the project.
Adding to the speculation, there have been reports of Sunny Deol being considered for the role of Lord Hanuman.
While the official confirmation of the cast is still awaited, the film is expected to hit theaters next year, aiming for a Diwali release.
