Actress Preity Zinta is spending quality time with her family in the picturesque hills of Shimla. Her husband Gene Goodenough and their children Jai and Gia are accompanying her on this trip. Recently, the actress posted photos of herself trying her hand at using a traditional chulha oven that is commonly used in the hills.
In the pictures, Preity Zinta is seen wearing a salwar suit, sweater, and scarf, while standing next to the chulha as she tries to light the fire and cook. She shared the photos with the caption, “Re-living old memories & making new ones. All the action revolves around the kitchen in pahadi homes. Here I’m trying to light the fire & bring the rarely used old-school chulha to life.”

Fans quickly showered Preity with love for her simplicity and her connection to her roots. Preity, who was born in Shimla, currently resides in the US and returned to India during the Indian Premier League season. During her stay in Shimla, Preity and her family also visited the Hateshwari Mata temple. She shared a post on Twitter about her childhood memories of the temple and how it has remained an important part of her life. Preity wrote, “This temple has played a big role in my childhood & I’ve always felt very connected to it. Now that I’m a mother, it’s only natural that the first temple my kids visited was this incredible & ancient temple.” She encouraged her followers to visit the temple, describing it as “magical, mysterious & stunningly beautiful.”
