Ranbir Kapoor’s latest film, Animal, continues its triumphant run at the global box office, surpassing the ₹550 crore mark and poised to outshine his previous blockbuster, Sanju. Despite facing criticism for themes of toxic masculinity, violence, and misogyny, the movie has amassed a staggering ₹563.3 crore within its first week of release.
The official social media page for Animal shared the exciting update, presenting a poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor‘s captivating look in the film, with the caption: “Epic Triumph #Animal #AnimalHuntBegins #BloodyBlockbusterAnimal.” Fans eagerly anticipate the film’s further success, with comments speculating that it could easily cross the ₹650 to ₹670 crore mark by the end of the weekend.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Kabir Singh, Animal delves into the gritty world of a gang war, featuring intense violence. The focal point of the narrative revolves around the tumultuous father-son relationship between Anil Kapoor’s character, Balbir Singh, and Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Ranvijay Singh. Rashmika Mandanna plays Ranvijay’s wife, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of the antagonist.
Ranbir Kapoor, discussing his role in Animal, described it as the “most complex character” of his career. He emphasized the various shades given to each character by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, making the portrayal of emotions and complexities thrilling for the actors. Ranbir likened the film to an adult-rated version of Karan Johar’s family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, summarizing the story as one about a man willing to go to any length to protect his family.
