Salman Khan’s upcoming release, “Tiger 3,” scheduled for a Diwali debut, has generated immense excitement in the Bollywood community. With just 10 days left until the trailer launch, Yash Raj Films recently unveiled a thrilling poster featuring Salman as the iconic superspy, Tiger. On Reddit, fans have been speculating about whether “Tiger 3” can replicate the box office success of its predecessors, “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017).
The YRF Spy Universe was first established in 2012 with “Ek Tha Tiger,” starring Salman Khan, and continued with “Tiger Zinda Hai.” The latest installment, “Tiger 3,” is set to hit theaters this Diwali, releasing in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. YRF’s Instagram post about the film’s trailer launch on October 16th garnered a fan comment that said, “Tiger 3 is on a mission to open the first-ever ₹2000 crore club in Indian cinema at the box office.”
In response to the poster reveal, one Reddit user commented, “If the film doesn’t break records on Diwali, it will be surprising.” Another expressed skepticism, saying, “Beating ‘Jawan’ at the box office might be a challenge, but all the best to the ‘Tiger 3’ team. It’s been a year of miracles, so who knows?”
While Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” currently holds the title of the highest-grossing Hindi film in India, Salman Khan’s “Tiger Zinda Hai” secured the ninth spot on the list with ₹339.16 crore. Reddit users offered varying opinions on “Tiger 3’s” box office potential. One stated, “It has the potential to become the highest grosser, being the third part of a franchise that has performed exceptionally well.” However, they also wished for “Jawan” to maintain its position as the top Bollywood film. Another commenter remarked, “It all depends on the quality of the trailer. The teaser was quite generic.”
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, “Tiger 3” stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. The film’s teaser, released last month on legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary, hinted at the thrilling narrative to come. “Tiger 3” is set in the same cinematic universe as Hrithik Roshan’s “War” (2019) and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” (2023), all part of the YRF Spy Universe.
In the teaser, Salman Khan’s character boldly proclaimed his unwavering commitment to serving India. He declared, “As long as Tiger is not dead, he has not lost.”
In the race for the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, “Tiger 3” faces tough competition from “Jawan.” While the outcome remains uncertain, Bollywood enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the film’s trailer release, hoping for another box office blockbuster.
