In the recent episode of Koffee with Karan, veteran actors Neetu Kapoor and Zeenat Aman took a trip down memory lane, sharing anecdotes from their past and personal lives. The conversation delved into Neetu’s reflections on her relationship with the late Rishi Kapoor during his final days.
Neetu candidly revealed that Rishi had been distant from their children, Riddhima and Ranbir Kapoor, often displaying a tendency to be somewhat bullying. This strained not only their relationship with him but also impacted her own bond with Rishi. However, Neetu noted a significant transformation in Rishi’s personality during his cancer treatment in New York, where he battled the illness for two years before passing away in 2020.
Reflecting on their 45 years together, Neetu chose to focus on the positive aspects, particularly their time in New York. Despite the sadness surrounding Rishi’s illness, she emphasized that it was the best year of her life. Neetu also shared how Rishi, who had not been a friend to their children, underwent a remarkable change as the end neared. “Chintu Ji (Rishi Kapoor) was a very loving person. He had a lot of love in him, but he never really showed his love,” she explained. However, during that last year, he opened up, showed love, and became more affectionate towards both Neetu and their children.
