Fans of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani have been eagerly anticipating their upcoming film, “Satyaprem Ki Katha,” ever since the release of its first look. The chemistry between the lead pair and the catchy songs have struck a chord with the audience. However, the recently released song, “Pasoori Nu,” which is a recreation of the popular track “Pasoori,” has received a lot of criticism. Pakistani singer Shae Gill, who sang the original version alongside Ali Sethi, has addressed the controversy on her Instagram.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Shae Gill revealed that the decision to recreate the song for “Satyaprem Ki Katha” was not hers. She clarified that she neither owns the song nor the rights to it. Shae also urged fans not to send hate towards the recreation. She suggested that if listeners dislike the new version, they should simply choose not to listen to it. Shae said, “I understand that you all love the original ‘Pasoori’ so much, and I am grateful for all the love. But I don’t want you to send hate to someone else. Look at it as a rendition rather than a remake.”
She further added, “If it’s something you don’t like at all, then I would say don’t listen to it. Instead of sending hate, choose not to listen. Expressing your dislike privately is still acceptable, but publicly humiliating and insulting someone is not very nice, is it?”
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, “Satyaprem Ki Katha” stars Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan in the lead roles. This film marks their second on-screen collaboration after “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.” It also represents a significant collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on June 29, 2023.
Apart from “Pasoori Nu,” the previously released songs from the “Satyaprem Ki Katha” album include “Naseeb Se,” “Aaj Ke Baad,” “Gujju Pataka,” and “Sun Sajni.”
