Amitabh Bachchan has been admitted to the hospital, as per the reports. The actor, who was experiencing shortness of breath, underwent a heart operation, reportedly an angioplasty.
The reports also confirmed the news, stating that doctors at Kokilaben Hospital performed an angioplasty on Amitabh Bachchan early Friday. An official statement is expected from his PR team later today.
Amitabh felt unwell and was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai. He underwent an angioplasty after being advised by doctors during a general checkup. He is said to be recovering well.
Despite these health concerns, Amitabh shared a message of gratitude on X, stating, “T 4950 – in gratitude ever…” He also shared a video promoting his Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) team. However, neither Amitabh Bachchan nor his family has released an official statement yet.
Earlier this year, Amitabh underwent wrist surgery, as seen in pictures he shared with Akshay Kumar on his blog in January. In March last year, while shooting for Kalki 2898 AD in Hyderabad, he suffered a back injury, resulting in bed rest due to a torn muscle and strained rib cartilage. He was unable to attend the San Diego Comic Con due to medical restrictions.

On the work front, Amitabh recently announced on his blog that he had completed shooting for Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. He expressed his excitement for the film’s release on May 9th, stating, “The last efforts to get everything in shape and in order to bring to all an experience that promises the vision of the makers.”
