On March 9, 2023, the renowned actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66 due to a heart attack while en route to a hospital in Gurugram. Satish Kaushik, an alumnus of the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India was celebrated for his versatile performances in iconic films such as “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron”, “Mr India”, “Deewana Mastana”, and “Udta Punjab”.
Recently, on Saturday, actor Anupam Kher shared a heartfelt tribute to Kaushik on social media, reminiscing about a moment they shared. Kher posted a one-minute clip of Kaushik watching a video, describing it as a “poetic depiction of friendship.” He fondly recalled their time together, emphasizing Kaushik’s cheerful demeanor and unmatched friendship. Kher’s post encapsulated the enduring bond they shared, despite Kaushik’s physical absence.
Kaushik’s last film appearances included a role in “Kaagaz 2”, showcasing his remarkable talent and comic timing. Additionally, he made a significant mark as a director, with notable films like “Tere Naam” starring Salman Khan and “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai” featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor.
The entertainment industry, along with production banner RSVP and the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), paid homage to Kaushik, remembering his contributions and legacy. RSVP expressed their condolences, acknowledging Kaushik’s enduring presence in their hearts. Similarly, CINTAA honored Kaushik’s memory, highlighting his illustrious career in Bollywood, particularly his role in the classic film “Mr India”.
Furthermore, one of Kaushik’s posthumous releases is the eagerly anticipated film “Emergency”, starring Kangana Ranaut, where he portrayed the character of former deputy prime minister Babu Jagjivan Ram.
